This advanced routine combines bounding movements with 80-yard sprints for a total sprint volume of 945 yards. The addition of bounds develops elastic power and running mechanics, while the extended sprint distance challenges both speed endurance and deceleration control.
While suitable for any athlete, this workout is especially ideal for baseball players. Most testing in baseball features the 60-yard dash — training at 80 yards provides over-distance conditioning, helping athletes sharpen their acceleration while also learning to better manage deceleration beyond 60.
